Stakes and volume matter more here than at most rooms on this list, because of the cashout fee and the high micro-stakes rake described below. Tell me what you actually play and the conversation will be a lot more useful.

What RedStar's own rewards give you

A points-per-euro loyalty scheme with two levels. The base level pays a modest return on rake, and a second level pays considerably better but requires a monthly points target to reach and to hold.

That second tier is the one worth aiming at, and it is also the reason to be honest about volume before you pick this room. If you are not going to hit the monthly target, you are earning at the base rate, and the base rate is where RedStar's high micro-stakes rake bites hardest.

The games

RedStar has been running since 2005, which makes it the oldest brand on this site, and it sits on Playtech's iPoker network under a Curacao licence. Peak traffic runs into the thousands and cash games spread from the smallest blinds up to the mid-high range in euro.

The reason to care about RedStar is the tracker policy. Holdem Manager, PokerTracker and Hand2Note all work here with full HUD support. Almost every other room on this site blocks third-party software and hands you a built-in HUD instead. If your study process is built around your own database, this is one of the last places on this list where it still works, and that is a genuine advantage rather than a minor convenience.

Hold'em is the main game at every stake. Omaha runs but concentrates in the evenings at lower blinds, and Short Deck is thinner again. The network's fast-fold game, its hyper-turbo three-handed format and a full tournament schedule all run, including the jackpot tournament series iPoker is known for.

The client is Playtech's, on Windows, macOS and Android. If you are on a Mac and were looking at Champion Poker, this is the same network with a client that actually runs on your machine.

What to know before you deposit

RedStar charges a cashout fee on withdrawals, and crypto carries a charge going in as well as coming out. This is unusual for a poker room and it is the thing to understand before you deposit. None of the individual charges are large, but they change the arithmetic if you withdraw small amounts often. Take money out in larger and less frequent chunks here.

Rake at the smallest stakes is high even by network standards, so a fee on top of that is a poor combination when your edge is thin. If you play micro stakes, this is not the room where the numbers work best for you.

Table selection is also restricted and bumhunting is not allowed, so an edge that came from picking games will not survive here.

Deposits and withdrawals

Visa, Skrill, Neteller, ecoPayz, Bitcoin, USDT and Webmoney, with limits from around ten euro up into the thousands. Factor the cashout fee into whichever route you pick, and consolidate withdrawals rather than making them piecemeal.
